Privacy notice: website audit tool

Last updated 17 July 2026 · Draft pending final review

Who we are

This audit tool is operated by AD Marketing Group, Urban Village, 221 High Street, Swansea SA1 1NW ("we", "us"). We are the data controller for the information described here. You can contact us about anything in this notice at hello@admarketing.group or 01792 398299.

What we collect and why

When you request an audit we collect the website address you submit, your first name and email address, and optionally your company name and phone number. We use these to run the audit you asked for, email you the report (including a PDF copy), re-run the audit about three weeks later so we can show you what has changed, and follow up about that audit. The lawful basis is taking steps at your request prior to a possible contract, and our legitimate interest in responding to people who ask us to assess their website.

We also record how you found the tool (referrer and campaign parameters) so we understand which of our marketing works. We do not buy, sell or rent personal data.

Emails, and how to stop them

Requesting an audit means we email you the report, a follow-up on your progress about three weeks later, and occasional practical SEO and PPC advice for businesses like yours: this is the “soft opt-in” permitted for our own similar services, and we tell you about it on the form before you submit. If you additionally tick the optional marketing box, you join our regular newsletter list, roughly fortnightly, and we record when you consented and the exact wording you agreed to.

Every email we send, without exception, contains a one-click unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing stops everything: audit follow-ups, advice emails and newsletters, immediately, and nothing automated can ever re-subscribe you. Only you can, by explicitly opting in again.

What we audit

The tool crawls the publicly visible pages of the website address you submit, politely and within published limits, and retrieves public performance data about it from Google's PageSpeed service. It does not log into anything, bypass any access controls, or collect personal data from the audited website beyond what any visitor's browser would see.

Who else processes your data

We use a small number of service providers to run this tool: a cloud hosting provider (application and database hosting), Brevo (email delivery and contact management) and, for generating the plain-English narrative in reports, an AI text-generation provider that receives audit findings about the website: not your contact details. Each processes data under contract on our instructions.

How long we keep things

Audit reports and contact details are kept for up to 24 months from your last interaction with us, then anonymised: your personal details are removed and only anonymous statistics remain. If you ask us to delete your data sooner, we will: email hello@admarketing.group and we will confirm within one month, usually much faster. You can also ask for a copy of the data we hold about you.

Cookies and analytics

The audit tool itself works without marketing or analytics cookies. If analytics (Google Analytics via Google Tag Manager) is enabled on this site, it loads only after you consent via the cookie banner. Essential functionality: running your audit, keeping your admin session if you work here: does not require consent.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask for access to, correction of, deletion of, or a portable copy of your personal data, object to our use of it, and withdraw marketing consent at any time. Contact hello@admarketing.group. If you are unhappy with our answer you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
